Legislative Updates
DCTA works with the CEA and the NEA on legislative and regulatory issues affecting public education. Full and part-time lobbyists monitor Congress and the State House. Volunteers and paid staff also work on behalf of candidates who are pro-public education and in support of ballot issues that affect schools.
DCTA members can subscribe to CEA's Capital Connection, a weekly update on what's happening with public education at the Capitol. You'll find out about the action on bills that affect educators, kids, and your future in public education. Capitol Connection is e-published from the second week of January until May. Joining CEA Capitol Connection is easy. Send an e-mail as follows and you'll get a confirmation by e-mail to verify your subscription.

Legislative Liaisons
DCTA assigns a practicing educator to each of the legislators representing the Denver County. The function of the liaison is to convey the Association's positions on important legislative bills as viewed from the perspective of a practitioner. DCTA Legislative Liasons build relationships with legislators throughout the year, ensuring that educators' voices are heard by elected officials.
